Experimental Studies on the Immunnomodulational Effects of Taxilli Ramulus

Abstract
In order to investigate the immunnomodulational effects of Taxilli Ramulus the various immune responses were studied.
The results were obtained as follows.
1. In the proliferous effects of spleen cells. water extracts of Taxilli Ramulus played a important role to proliferate the spleen cells compared with control group.
2. When the water extracts of Taxilli Ramulus was treated, positive cells were significantly increased in the effect of CD4, CD8 about the spleen cells.
3. When the water extracts of Taxilli Ramulus was treated, NO production and phagocytic index K were enhanced in the spleen cells compared with control group.
4. In reinforcemental effect about cytokines, the PCR products of IFN-¥ã, IL-12 (P35), IL-12 (P40), IL-4, IL-10, IL-5 were increased as compared with control group dose-dependently.
according to the above results, Taxilli Ramulus increase the number of CD4+, CD8+ T cells and activate IFN-¥ãwhich appeal anti-viral activity by dint of activating macrophage, activate IgG which being made in B-cell neutralize Virus directly, increase immunity by means of promoting dissolution of spleen cells which involve immune cell. Activation of cytotoxic T cells by water extracts Taxilli Ramulus play a important role to immunopotentiate by promoting cytolytic activity of CD8+ T cells. Increasing of IFN-¥ã, IL-12 (P35), IL-12 (P40), IL-4, IL-10, IL-5, GM-CSF, IL-2 gene expression by water extracts Taxilli Ramulus promote the activities of B lymphocytes and macrophages by differentiation of Th1 cells. Above results demonstrates that Taxilli Ramulus can promote humoral and cell-mediated immunity. therefore. more deep research shoud be accomplised about the mechanism of immunopotentiation.
